We had a great long visit in Memphis last week. Tyler was in Minneapolis for most of the week so we thought it was the perfect time to get out of town for a bit. He flew with us both ways and then just went to MN from Memphis. The girls actually did really good flying, but there is still no way that I could fly with both of them by myself yet. Skylar liked having her own car seat on the plane and Savannah was good but very active. She was twisting and turning around in our laps the whole time and liked to peek over the top of the seat and into the isle and flirt with everyone.
It was also a great week because we had lots of family come see us. We don't make it to Memphis very often, so everyone was really sweet to make an effort to come see the girls. Tyler's dad was in Tupelo at the furniture market so he got to swing by on his way home for a visit. My dad came in from Texas too to see the girls and Ryan, Jenny, and Benjamin came in from Nashville for a long weekend. My uncle Lee and aunt Gaye even came in for a night to visit. It was a fun week! Everyone loved watching the girls and Ben play in the kid pit in the middle of the den. We moved all the furniture around so there was a big space to play and only one tiny exit which of course they found pretty quick and liked to try and escape out of and into the kitchen.
Grandpa and some sleepy girls
Katie! Skylar loves Aunt Katie...
So, these pictures do not do this scenario justice, but it was a hilarious giggling match involving funny hats. I will post the phone video I was taking too. Gigi got the girls some new hats for this winter and I was trying them on before bath time one night. Skylar kept looking at Savannah's hat and giggling and thought it was hilarious. Savannah kept trying to take her hat off and would pull it farther down on her head. She was crawling around with it over her face and would sit up and shake her head and try and get it off. Of course that made Skylar and everyone else laugh even harder. They are so funny together!
Savannah loves to play with her car seat...
Savannah and Katie
We took the girls out to Shelby Farms one afternoon to try and get their picture in the sunflower field. It had been so dry though that they were all withered and pitiful looking. A few cute pictures anyway...
Playing at the park down the street from Gigi's house. The girls were loving the swings. Skylar is getting better at holding on and can go a little bit higher/faster now which she loves.
Gramp and the kiddos
Gigi, Grandude, and kiddos. Skylar likes to say Grandooooode!
Playing in the kid pit
Attacking Daddy when he got out the ipad. They love to play with it and watch Wonder Pets on it.
