Cute little Easter baby

My mom made this Easter dress for me when I was little

Happy Girl

Here is a little clip of Skylar being her typical happy always moving self

Lately...

We have had lots of visitors in the last few weeks. We had two grandmas here at once when both my mom and Ty's mom had Spring Break. It was great and Skylar was thoroughly entertained all week. They worked hard all week sewing curtains and helping put some finishing touches on the house.
Somehow I got no pictures of them with Skylar:(
We also had a good visit with Tyler's dad. Skylar was happy to show off some of her new skills.
Getting stronger

Skylar and Grandpa
The other night Skylar was laying in the den while we were in the kitchen doing something (they are connected). I can usually just glance over there every minute or so and check on her and she is fine. Tyler had plugged the Wii in the night before and the cord was right behind where she was laying and I had not realized it. Tyler's dad looked over there and said- is she chewing on that cord? Sure enough...she had reached behind her and was munchin on the Wii cord. Of course we ran over there and grabbed it away. This first picture is her in shock after the commotion and the second one is her realizing all the attention she just got and eatin it up. In a weird way it was kindof fun for her to go after something she is not supposed to and for us to realize we need to be more careful. That was a first. Of course we were glad she was fine and that she is a gentle chewer.

Check out my hair!

Minky Dots and Bees

Skylar LOVES her crib. Thanks to Aunt KT, she has a really cute soft minky dot bumper. She loves to feel it and rub her hands against it. She usually falls asleep with her arms out touching the bumper. It is like her safety blanket. Even before she learned to feel her minky dots she loved the bees above her crib. Her bee mobile has always been one of her favorite things. When she very first started smiling she would smile at the bees when we laid her down. We always take them with us when we go out of town and use them with her pack n play so she feels like she is at home. When we were moving we had to stay in a hotel for over a week and Skylar didn't sleep good at all. Our first night home when we put her in the crib she looked over and saw the bumper and got a huge smile on her face. She missed her minky dots!
Hmm, how can I get those bees?

More Snow Pics

We took Skylar out for her first time in the snow and she loved it. I wasn't sure if she would like it or not cause it was so cold, but she was smiling and laughing and being a ham for the pictures. Tyler made her a cute little snowman to sit by. There is still snow everywhere and it is beautiful!

Snow!!

We got tons of snow last night! These pics are from early this morning and it still came down for another 3 hours.

Ty tried to drive the Expedition out this morning and even with 4 wheel drive it was sliding all around and slid off the driveway into the grass. So, he has to work from home today.

Happy in my high chair. Red hair?

Curtains

I forgot to post pictures of our lovely makeshift curtains. It was Skylar's nap time on our first day in the house and I realized it was going to be way too bright in there and that we better get something up on the window. The posterboard was the first thing I thought of and I just threw it up. I didn't think it would still be there almost 2 weeks later...but I am working on a permanent solution. It looks hilarious pulling up to our house. (and yes, I realize that light still gets in from the sides, but it was the best I could do)

Moving Day Pics

We moved in to our new house a week ago and it is finally starting to feel a little bit like home. It has been such a crazy couple of weeks and we are looking forward to some less chaotic days. We were lucky that Target packed and moved us...but we had no idea how hard it was going to be this time with a baby. Moving is not fun in general and moving with a 9 month old is crazy! Skylar hung in there most of the time, but she did have a rough couple of weeks and it shows in her new emerging personality. She has learned to throw a mini fit and now wants to be constantly entertained. It's all drama though cause she is over it as soon as you do something funny or distract her. Back to the movers....we had the option of having them unpack our things for us or leaving the boxes for us to unpack. We have done it both ways before and chose to have them unpack us because we still had boxes sitting around for months when it was up to us to unpack. They are supposed to unpack the boxes and just put everything on the closest open surface that they can find. I don't know if we have way more stuff than before or if the movers weren't as good, but the house was a disaster when they were finished unpacking. I am so thankful that my mom was there to help and she pretty much did all the organizing by herself. Here are some pictures of the craziness...
Kitchen with dishes everywhere!
Den with dishes everywhere. Skylar is checking out all the stuff.

Dining room
Living room
Master bedroom...they dumped all of our clothes on our bed. It took my mom and I both folding for 2 hours to get the bed cleared off.
Master closet- they dumped all of our shoes in the middle of the closet floor. We have way too many shoes!

It was so cold in the house before we got the heat going that I had to swaddle Skylar up in a big blanket to keep her warm.

I think we are going to like VA. I love our neighborhood and although we haven't met any neighbors yet it feels like a really friendly place. We are ready for some visitors...you are welcome anytime!

Moving

We are moving to Richmond, VA tomorrow! It is bittersweet to leave our little Greenville but I think we will like Richmond. Skylar seems to be doing great with the transition so far. Will post some pics when we are settled and back up and running again.
