Birthday Girl

Skylar is two years old! She weighs 22 lbs 7 oz and is 34 inches tall. She is a very happy little girl and smiles a lot. Her favorite toys are books, trucks, babies, and Daddy's electronics. She loves music and being outside swinging in her swing. She tries to repeat a lot of what we say and she has a really sweet little talking voice.
She had a super busy and fun birthday week. We celebrated for a few days so Gigi could be include when she got in to town. On Skylar's birthday we took her to the zoo for the first time. The Richmond Zoo doesn't have anything too exciting, but we all had a good time anyway. She loved seeing the tiger and riding the carousel.

We picked the hottest day of the year so far to go...they were a little sunscreen sweaty mess by the end of the day.

Skylar loves to put her feet up on everything! If anything is within reaching distance- she has her feet on it at all times.

Finally able to wear a little sprig of a pony tail:)

Lots of fun new toys and pretty clothes!

Squishy cupcake! As you can see from the next picture...she would much rather be playing with it than eating it!

We love you! Happy Birthday Skylar!

Maine Visit

I got to go last weekend with Ryan, Jenny, and Ben on a quick trip to Maine to see family. It was a beautiful weekend and wonderful to be back. I always went every summer growing up and haven't gotten to go in a few years being busy with grad school and babies. We didn't think they were ready for the trip just yet this time.
Tyler kept both of the girls for the weekend and did great. Ryan and Jenny got stuck in Tampa for two days on the way home because of all the flooding in Nashville and with the airport closed. Ben is a trooper though and is already an excellent traveler.

Savannah 5 months old

Savannah is 5 months old now. She has a big personality for such a tiny little thing. She gets the baby death grip on anything she can reach. She especially loves to grab the inside of her sleeve while we try to get her dressed. I think she is working on a tooth too and she loves to try and bite on your shoulder when you are holding her. She still loves to watch Skylar and smiles at her a lot. She is very close to rolling from her back to her tummy and she still loves to stand up so she can check everything out. She doesn't miss a thing and is always looking around.
She sleeps about 11 hours at night now and still naps pretty good during the day. I had to actually wake her up one morning because we had to be somewhere. She started her sleepy squirming and stretching when I walked in and then I leaned over her crib and she was just barely blinking her eyes and she caught a glimpse of me. With her eyes still closed she got a huge smile on her face. So sweet! She is always happy to see us. There is a time in the afternoon now where she and Skylar are both asleep at the same time. I am getting so spoiled with a good catch up break and will be very sad when sleeping schedules change again.
We started feeding her solids this month and so far her favorite is pears. She eats about 75% and spits the other 25% out. I think thats actually a pretty good record for our household! She is getting better at eating her bottle too.
Some pics of sweet Savannah...

Nashville

Here are some pictures of the girls lately and some pictures from my spur of the moment trip to Nashville over the weekend...

Thanks Lauren for the cute matching outfits!

In action...tickle for the camera shot

I got to go to Nashville over the weekend thanks to Jenny and a free standby pass. I loved getting to see Benjamin and all the new things he is doing. I got to hang out with family and meet up with a few friends too- it was a great (but exhausting) weekend. Savannah got to come along for the ride too to meet everyone. I have learned that traveling with a baby is just hard even with a usually easy baby. She did not love being out of her element and fought going to sleep big time. She did OK on the plane on the way there, but on the way home she was over it after a fun weekend of being constantly entertained and not sleeping much. Luckily the people around us were pretty nice and we got no evil looks while she was fussy.

Savannah got to see her first dogs this weekend. Sadie and Parker- she just kept watching them and trying to figure them out.

Benjamin....I mean does it get any cuter than this!?!

Jenny and Ben. We spent lots of time hanging out on the deck. Ryan made a yummy drink I had never tried before called a pimm's cup with fresh cucumbers.

Ben is showing Savannah his favorite toy of the day....his purple spoon.

Savannah taking a nap on Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jenny's bed...all cozy surrounded by pillows (including one she pulled on top of herself)

So happy in the morning in my make shift bed.
