Thanksgiving Week

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year. We had family members from both sides of the family in town to celebrate with us. The girls had a blast and loved all the attention. The poor grandmothers both had to sleep on mattresses on the floor, but they were troopers about it! A few times a year it would be nice to have a 6 bedroom house:) Thanks to everyone's help we are fully decorated for Christmas. That would have never happened this year without help. Skylar is loving the tree and is so excited to see all the ornaments and lights. She just sits there and says "OOOoooooo!" Her other favorite thing to say right now is "It's cuuuuuuute!" Imagine that in a really sweet southern high pitched excited voice. It is adorable! Everything she sees is cuuuuute.
Everyone loved seeing how much Savannah walks now. She still falls down all the time and trips over things, but she doesn't care one bit and just gets back up and keeps going. She is so busy all day long....and of course still LOUD.
We got a new wagon that the girls are loving. Savannah just looks around and smiles the whole time and Skylar gets so excited. She thinks now that whenever we leave the house we are going on a wagon ride. A wagon ride or to Target. This morning I took her out to get the mail and as we were walking out the door she said "Target!" Mail not quite as exciting as Target...

Savannah's Birthday

Savannah is one year old! Of course we can't believe that she is already one. It was a fast year. I know everyone always says that, but it really does fly by. It still feels like just a few months ago we brought her home from the hospital. I still remember how hard it was in the beginning when she would be awake for hours in the middle of the night and how she never wanted to eat when she was supposed to. She would go crazy at 10:00 every night for some reason and just cry for what felt like forever. Months 3-6 are kindof a blur of feedings, changing diapers, Sky's doctors appointments and therapy, and reading and re-reading the Twilight series...which totally helped me make it through. From 6 months till now really sped by with lots of vacation, company, and travelings. Even though it is a little wild sometimes, I know that she was put into our lives at exactly the right time and she is such a blessing to our family.
She weighs 17 lbs 12 oz and is 29 1/2 in tall. She is still a teeny thing but is catching up on the height curve. She can say "night-night", "bye-bye", "off" (thanks to Skylar's love for all things to come "off"), "hi", and has close approximations of- water, baby, bottle, more, all done, and shirt. She can say "quack" and "moo", but prefers to say that every animal roars like a lion...including Minnie Mouse. Everyone roars.
Now while she is being changed she likes to roll up into a crunch position and point to her belly button. She has abs of steal and can stay like that forever! She loves to be funny and makes some hilarious faces to get a good laugh. It is funny to see such a big personality on such a tiny little girl. She is walking more and more now and can really get going when she wants to. It is still mostly a few steps and then fall down and get back up, but on her birthday we went to Romp N Roll and she walked about 30 steps in a row in the wide open space. She had a blast. Here are some pictures from her big day...

I think they look like little and big book ends...

We went home after Romp N Roll to open presents and have cupcakes...

Fegan and the Birthday Girl

She wasn't really crazy about the cupcake but had fun playing with it.

Sky had fun making a mess too!

Happy Birthday Savannah!!

The weekend in more words then pictures...

I didn't take any pictures this weekend except for Skylar's first hair cut. She did such a great job! They had a really fun Barbie car for her to sit in and they put a Dora movie on too. She could have sat there all day, but her haircut only took like 4 minutes. It might not be the best haircut ever, but it looks much healthier with all the fine little baby hair ends gone.

Tyler and I did some projects this weekend getting ready for our Thanksgiving company. We got our flu shots Saturday morning too and then decided to move a mattress up the stairs...not a great idea after a shot in the arm!
We decided to take the girls to the mall Saturday night and maybe do a little Christmas shopping. The mall is already insane! I don't know what we were thinking. We also let them play in the little toddler play area (so gross I know!) and all these big 6 & 8 year olds were running around and jumping off stuff. One kid had his shoes on and had no parent in sight. Another mom sat there and read a book right next to the sign that said "For children 36 inches and under only" and "No shoes". We couldn't believe how as a mom you could just sit there letting your giant kids run around with two crawling babies trying to play. Anyway, probably our last mall trip for the season except to see Santa.
Another not so fun thing that happened over the weekend- Skylar started biting. For some reason she decided at 2 1/2 to start biting! She bit Savannah on the finger twice over the weekend. I don't think Savannah was completely innocent and may or may not have had her finger in Skylar's face, but still- it was heartbreaking to hear her cry over it. She was so sad that her sister would do that to her:( I am really hoping this phase doesn't last very long.
On a more fun note- Savannah's birthday is tomorrow!

Childrens Museum

Every so often our Childrens Museum has a night that is only open to families of children with special needs- and we got to go last night. It is awesome because there is only 30-40 people there usually and the girls get to crawl around everywhere without being trampled. I think the wide open floor space is more fun to them than the actual activities going on.

Savannah isn't happy just standing and playing with the vegetables....she has to climb up into the bins. She just loves to put her feet on stuff too- no matter how high or how far away it is- she tries to pick up her foot and get it there.

Memphis Visit

Savannah and I got to go on a quick trip to Memphis to see Aunt Katie's new house and help organize a little bit. It looks so great already after just moving in a week ago! Savannah got to hang out with Gigi and Grandude while we were doing projects. I forgot to take my camera to Katie's, so I only have a couple phone pics. Our main project was organizing a new shoe shelf system. It is awesome- it is like walking in to a shoe store and shopping! Really wishing we wore the same size because I could have left with some sweet hand-me-downs. Savannah came to visit us for a bit on Saturday and I got a good video of her walking. She took 8 steps- her longest yet.
