Nephew Love

Our new baby nephew is here! Im so happy I got to be there and help welcome him in to the world. Mom and baby Wil and the whole family did great. He is so cute and cuddly and handsome. He looks like a two week old because he just looks so healthy and perfect...not like a typical newborn that looks a little rough. Minde and James looked amazing the whole time- I don't know how they do it!? And Caroline did a great job of greeting Wil and taking care of Mommy....such a sweet big sister. I think Wil might be the best baby ever. I know he's still little, and I only got to see him for a little bit, but he was immediately an eating, sleeping, pooping machine. And he just has this peaceful aura about him- like he knows how safe and loved and taken care of he is- and he can just be calm and take it all in.
Wil's birth also happened to be the same weekend as my other newphew Ben's 3rd birthday party in Nashville. I was able to make a quick overnight trip to Nashville and see my family and celebrate Ben's birthday. We had a great time and Ben got lots of fun boy toys for his birthday. He is ALL boy and has the bruises to prove it. He loves fire trucks and trains and anything with wheels. And of course getting dirty in the yard. The girls would have had a blast, but the timing was too quick to try and bring them for the weekend. They had a good time staying home with Daddy though. They are really excited about baby Wil too and can't wait to meet him.

Special Olympics

Skylar got to participate in the Special Olympics Summer Games. Special Olympics out did themselves again and hosted an awesome event! Skylar "ran" in the 25 meter race. She loved all the attention and everyone cheering for her- and was very excited about the medal she won. After the race, the girls got to play some games with the other little athletes. Skylar's buddy Ethan and his family also did the event and she had fun seeing him and all of his brothers and sisters. The event was hosted at the University of Richmond - we had never been there before and it was a gorgeous track and campus.

And she's off...

She got a little crowd happy with everyone cheering for her, and Tyler had to steer her back in the direction of the finish line :) Everyone cheering for Skylar!
