Getting ready for Halloween

Waiting for our yummy waffles to come at our favorite brunch restaurant.

It's no one wants to look at the camera day:)

Oh, I'm so cute I crack myself up!
Thanks Mimi and Sandy for the adorable Halloween outfits!
Playing with Gigi while she visits over her fall break. Savannah loves to put toys in your face...especially babies she wants you to give a kiss to.

I went to this fun Halloween costume consignment sale and got a few options to pick between for the girls. I had them all out one morning and Skylar kept trying to put this one on. So, she played dress up for a little bit. This one wasn't my fav, so it didn't make the cut.
For some reason they both love to go stare out the back door. She kind of looks like a pitiful prisoner wanting to escape. (and yes, that is a random bib that she found on the floor and decided to hold up to the door??)

Lots of fresh air lately....

It has been so pretty here over the last week and the Meece girls have gotten lots of fresh air. I am trying to soak up as much as we can to prepare for months of being too cold to play outside:(
Last weekend we tried out a couple new parks we had never been to before. One was actually so crowded on the playground that they would have been trampled. So, we settled for playing in an empty baseball field...which they actually really liked.
A whole field to yourself....

Everyone swinging with Daddy! Skylar thought it was OK, but Savannah couldn't get enough.

Big girl! So proud of herself for standing up!

Another new fun playground. This time it was just us. You can tell Savannah is baby # 2 or we probably wouldn't be putting an 11 month old on the see-saw. We are just so ready for someone to play on the playground that we are like- why not?!? And because of that, she actually thinks she is grown. I'm sure in her head she thinks she's at least two.

Sweet Skylar

Skylar is such a sweetie lately. She is learning lots of new words and phrases every week. She likes to say "commear, commear" for you to "come here" and pick her up. She also loves to say "take it off" for her babies clothes or anyone else who will oblige for that matter. Gigi came to visit last week and when she got here she was wearing a jacket and Sky said "take it off" so of course Gigi took it off for such good asking. The rest of the week Skylar wanted Gigi to take everything off. She was like- but I'm asking just as nicely...I don't get it?
Her babies are her favorite toys and she is very sweet feeding them, loving on them, and making all of them sing itsy bitsy spider with their hands.
She is a good big sister and is trying to understand sharing and turns. She LOVES company and is sad whenever anyone leaves. We went to our first playdate at Romp N Roll for a new group for kids with special needs and she was so sad to leave she threw a little fit and was crying. That was a first. Another first was when we got there and got into the cushiony gym area- I sat down with her and she just took off. She crawled around everywhere checking everything out and seeing the other kids and didn't even care where I was. I had never really seen her that independent before and exploring by herself. It was a nice surprise.

Savannah 11 months

Two days shy of 11 months Savannah took her first steps! She has only done it a couple times since then and really prefers to speed crawl everywhere. She has started saying a few things and can say mama, dada, bye-bye, and night-night.
She got two top teeth this month too! Finally! One front tooth and then a space and then another tooth. So she has a really cute little jackolantern smile right now. She has started eating Cheerios now since she has more teeth and already signs "more" as soon as she puts one in her mouth.
She is still the loudest baby I have ever heard and is always squealing. It wasn't really ever "cute" per say, but in the beginning it was kindof funny. Well... it's not so funny anymore and I'll be glad when there are some more words to go along with those excited emotions instead of just ear piercing noise:)
She has learned to open the cabinets and loves to just stand at the cabinet doors and play with the knobs. She loves to walk around holding on to your fingers and find things to step on. She really loves walking outside and getting to step on leaves. She also loves to play peek-a-boo and will crawl around the other side of the couch and pop out and laugh when you say peek-a-boo.
She is non stop all day long but has been taking good naps lately cause she is so worn out from playing so hard. She has maybe a 30 second transition from dead asleep to wide awake and ready to go. She would climb up the stairs for hours if we would let her. Nothing is too heavy for her to attempt to pick up and she has no idea she is a tiny little 17 pounder that can't pick up or climb up everything.
She still hates being changed and keeps her legs stiff as a board when you try and get her dressed or undressed.
She is a sweet girl with a little bit of a devilish side...
