Pumpkin Patch

We took Skylar to a local Berry Farm/ Pumpkin Patch on Sunday. It was a gorgeous day and perfect for being outside. We rode a little train pulled by a John Deere tractor and took a hay ride out into the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. Skylar loved people watching and was so happy even though we stayed out through nap time.

She loved this little mini corn maze and was trying to grab all the corn as we went through.

Our fun tractor ride

Why doesn't she have on any shoes? Well, she doesn't really need them yet and it was getting toasty out and so she went barefoot and showed off her tiny feet.

Getting sentimental...

So, I am starting to get really sentimental about our time with Skylar before she becomes a big sister. I am loving spending some good quality time with her and trying to let her thoroughly enjoy being an only child for a little bit longer. She is pretty much used to having my undivided attention 24 hours a day so I am hoping she does well with the transition.
We have been cooking at home more lately and enjoying relaxing family time at night. She loves for us to get on the floor and play with her at her level. I try to imagine if my typical line of sight was only about 6 inches off the ground crawling around- I would want someone down there with me too!
We are trying to get the nursery and things ready...but haven't made it very far yet. I feel like she is already a huge part of the family though and I can't wait to meet her. I am going to enjoy every last minute of free time I have between now and then since I know free time will be hard to come by soon. Every night when I go to bed I am thinking....in a few months I could have a screaming baby right now! Skylar has been waking up crying at night for a few months now, so between that and just poor pregnancy sleeping I am actually pretty prepared for being up every few hours.
Here are some pictures of Skylar lately...

Outer Banks

We spent a wonderful week at the beach with my family last week. I loved seeing Benjamin for a whole week- he is such a cutie! Jenny's mom joined us too and we all stayed in a great house one lot back from the beach. The weather was actually pretty terrible most of the week, but we had about 2 1/2 days worth of beachy weather. The ocean was cold and waves were huge and the red no swimming flag was up. It might be the only time I have ever been to the beach and not gone swimming. I usually would have been tempted to go regardless of the flag, but thought maybe 7 month baby meece might not enjoy getting tossed around in the waves. We would wade out far enough to get Sky wet and she loved it. She loved the water coming towards her and would squeal when the waves hit. She loved the sand too and was a complete mess. She would try and wrestle out of our arms to get down so she could crawl and dig in the sand.
On our rainy days we would lounge around in pjs, play with Ben and Sky, read, just hang out, and of course eat lots of yummy food. Skylar loved having so much attention and was waving HI to everyone all week. She also loves to say uh-oh and has finally perfected the uh-oh and drop a toy off the high chair trick.

I love this face! She looks scared to death....but really she loved it.
