Hangin with Aunt Katie

Tyler went to Hilton Head over the weekend with a bunch of guy friends from college. Sky and I were going to be home alone so Katie decided to come over for a girls weekend and hang out. We had lots of fun taking it easy, shopping, eating, catching up on some Office, and enjoying the awesome 90 degree weather we had. Skylar let us drag her to a couple different malls and Rugged Wearhouse (which has tons of LOFT clothes now). Katie named Skylar nosy rosy cause she was always so interested in what Katie was doing. She would crane her neck to see Katie in the kitchen or wherever she was. We were also laughing at Skylar's new cheesy smile she makes sometimes. She has the perfect politician fake smile...its all pearly whites and no emotion. You can know if it is a genuine smile if she crinkles her nose up.
Tyler had an awesome time at the beach but was ready to see his little girl by the end.

A night at the ER and fun visitors

We have had a crazy week this past week that started off with a trip to the ER after Skylar had a terrible reaction to a new formula. She was throwing up for an hour straight and we decided to head to our GI doctors office where she continued to be sick for another 3 or so hours until he sent us to the ER to get her on an IV. It turns out she has a severe milk intolerance. The Dr. came to check on us before he left for the day and said that he suggested we stay the night so that they could keep her on an IV and make sure she could keep formula down before we left. So after having been at the doctor office/hospital since 3:00 we finally got a room around 9:30. It was a really long night and I felt like I was in the hopsital with a newborn. They kept coming in every hour or two to check her vitals and would wake her up and then she would be scared and crying cause she was in this giant metal toddler crib that looked like a zoo cage. I would have been scared too! She is such a trooper though and is just the sweetest thing and adapts to whatever is thrown her way. She had the IV and a mini board attached to her arm so she couldn't use her hand to grab anything or play with toys. She finally realized that it made a cool noise to bang on stuff with the board and would hold a toy in her other hand and bang on it with the IV board or bang it on the side of the crib. She also loved to bang it on my phone and that kept us entertained many times throughout the night. It was really sad cause she couldn't suck her thumb either and she kept trying to suck the tape. She was back to normal after some long naps the next day.
Hope we never have to do that again!
Skylar passed out after we got home from the hospital
Over the weekend Gramp and Grammy got to come visit. It was their first trip to Richmond and we had fun hanging out and showing them around a little bit. They had never been to Maggiano's and we had the yummiest dinner. We are loving our new selection of Richmond restaurants!

Aunt Jenny and her mom were on their way back to TN from Baltimore so they got to stop over for a night and visit. Jenny is due in June with my first nephew and she looked beautiful. Skylar loved all the company and of course all the attention.

Weekend walks

We had a beautiful weekend here and tried to spend lots of time outside. It is SO fun having Ty home and it actually feels like a weekend which we haven't ever really had. We tried out a new trail in our neighborhood by the water and Skylar loved it. She has recently been hating the jogging stoller for some reason. We got this cheapy backpack at Kid2Kid to try out and it is perfect for her. I would be walking by her and she kept looking over and smiling and was like- how am I as tall as you? I think she thought it was cool she was walking like a grown up. She actually made it the entire time without spitting up down Tyler's back until the last 100 yards.
