Sky's 5th Birthday!

Skylar is 5 years old! I can't believe it. I am still in shock :) She is such a sweet, happy five year old, and we are blessed to be her parents!
Her actual birthday was on a Monday, so she played hooky from school and Ty from work, and we celebrated water park style- at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg! We had a little family celebration over the weekend before we left for the Lodge. She got lots of great birthday presents from all of her family and a Super Why (her fav show of the minute) birthday cake that she requested. Savannah, for the first time, got to pick out a present and wrapping paper for Sky and wrap her present all by herself. Her present is the lovely wrapped blue sports paper present in the middle of the table :) She picked out rubber duckies for Sky.

Arriving at Great Wolf Lodge! (Home to a 79,000 sq ft indoor water park.)

Inside our room was a little cabin where the girls got to "sleep".

The indoor, amazing, kids HEAVEN.. waterpark...

We spent Sunday night at the Lodge and got to wake up Monday morning and spend the morning there on Sky's birthday. Our actual night did not go well, but Skylar didn't care- and I think she had a great birthday! It was our first attempt for the girls to ever sleep in the same room- yikes! They stayed up until 10:00 talking, giggling, and getting out of their beds. Which I didn't think was too bad, but then Savannah woke up crying at 3:15 saying it was too dark and then we were all awake in the middle of the night. Skylar decided she was done sleeping and started her day at 3:15 and never went back to sleep! Ty and I each took a couple hour shifts with her until it was a reasonable enough hour to start the day. During Ty's shift- he walked Skylar all over the Lodge. He was taking pictures with her and all of the different cheesy touristy stops in the Lodge. When I was looking at the pictures the next day I had to laugh because it felt like the gag reel at the end of The Hangover or something- Skylar's wild escapade through the Lodge in the middle of the night haha...

The girls got to have breakfast in their pjs and then meet Oliver the Wolf

Ready to start our birthday swim!

Such a cool place!
We look forward to going back again when the girls are a little bit older!

Little Feet Meet

Skylar got to participate in the Special Olympics Little Feet Meet again this year. We weren't supposed to make it because it was held on a vision therapy day, but the date got moved because of a rain-out  So, Skylar was excited to go! The Special Olympics did a great job again, and it is such a fun and special day for little athletes of all abilities.

Skylar at last years Little Feet Meet...she has come a long way in a year!!

Skylar's 4th grade buddies helping her with all of her events...

This is Sky's version of a bean bag toss.... gently place it in the basket.. :)

So proud of this little athlete! And of how hard she has to work on a daily basis to do things that come so easily to others. I am thankful for Special Olympics for recognizing these challenges in each child and for providing opportunities for them to shine.

Spring Break and April catch up

We had a great Spring Break this year! Ty took a couple of days off and it was great to have Daddy home with no school and more free time! The week started off cold, but we had beautiful weather by the end of SB and spent hours upon hours soaking up the Spring sunshine!

Fun weekday trip to Cracker Barrel and the Children's Museum...

Kings Dominion! These girls both LOVE roller coasters. Savannah can't wait until she's bigger and can go on the big "hoopy hoop" ones. :)
Riding the Whirlybirds...
(they love this word now and say it all the time and bust out laughing....)

I think Savannah might be excited!?

I love this big pink Jeep that you can barely see their heads popping out of...

Lots of outside deck time!
Mickey bubbles!

Fun with shaving cream...

Savannah is getting some air popping those bubbles...
Skylar looks like...um, my sister is crazy...

Turkey basters and an Ariel pool :)

More April pics...
I pretty much take a picture of the girls every day before we go to school or therapy or whatever activity we happen to be doing that day. I never intended on doing that, it just kindof happened....but now I thinks it's so fun to look back at the daily pictures and see how much they've changed. One of the main reasons I would take a pic was so I could show Minde all of the cute Caroline hand me downs we were wearing. Well, they pretty much wear something of Caroline's every day, so it turned into a daily thing! And of course we like to send Daddy a good morning picture when he is out of town or when he didn't get to see the girls before work.
These girls are really growing up!....
More chilly April mornings...
