Christmas with Ty's family

We had a whirlwind Christmas weekend with Tyler's family. We got snowed in all weekend and got to do lots of hanging out, eating, and opening presents. We were so happy that everyone finally made it after Mimi and Uncle Jack got stuck in the snow overnight on I-81. It was a terrible trip for them and we were so appreciative that everyone made the effort to come over and see baby Savannah and celebrate Christmas with us. We ended up getting a little over a foot of snow. It was beautiful to watch once we knew Mimi and Jack were safe!

Aunt Minde and Savannah

We spent lots of time in our PJs over the weekend

I love these two pictures! Here is Ty coming outside to see what I am doing and to check out the snow. And....here he is running back inside 30 seconds later when he realized how cold it was outside!

Christmas crazyness! Look at all the pretty presents. Tyler's family always wraps the best looking presents that I never want to open because they are too pretty.

Uncle James and Sky. She loves all of her uncles!

Mimi and the girls

The girls all bundled up going to look at Christmas lights.

"Kae Kee! Kae Kee!"

Skylar loves her Aunt Katie! She came to visit and help out a few weeks ago and we had a great time. Skylar was trying to say Katie and kept saying "Kae Kee! Kae Kee!" She was so proud of herself too. Katie couldn't believe how tiny Savannah was and how crazy our life is going to be now for a little while! Tyler was awesome and kept both girls a couple times so that Katie and I could hang out.

Here we are before Katie and I went out one night. I look so tired! I was thinking in my head how I should just stay home and sleep and then within 5 minutes of leaving the house and having some fun music on and thinking about the yummy sushi we were about to have- I was good to go. It was exactly what I needed. It is amazing how just doing something normal that doesnt revolve around babies can be so good for your spirit. We got our second wind and had fun drinking, eating, and shopping and shut down the mall, then Ross, then Target. Thanks Tyler and Katie for being so wonderful and helping me survive!

Super cheesin for the camera!

Sweet Cousins

Look alikes...

Aunt Minde commented on this picture of Savannah that she remembered Skylar snuggled up with the same pink blanket. I went back and found the picture of Skylar and it is crazy how much they look alike. I'm sure the blanket helps, but I think their hairline at least looks the same.
Savannah is the top pic and Sky the bottom pic...
Sweet girls!

Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jenny visit

Jenny and Ryan came to visit and it was so great to see our cute little nephew Benjamin. He is adorable and such a sweet little guy. He is really happy most of the time and has a great smile and lots of squeals. It was a nasty rainy weekend so we just hung out in or pjs a lot and played on the floor with the kiddos. Jenny and I only left the house to get homemade pizza ingredients and some Dunkin Donuts. What else do you need on a cold weekend? Benjamin is an early riser like his dad so Ryan and Jenny let us sleep in and fed the girls breakfast. We attempted a couple times to get some cute pictures of the three of them. Savannah was not happy about the picture taking or about Skylar always trying to pat her head. Ben was not used to my paparazzi flash like Skylar and looks caught in the headlights. We wore him out!

Front row seats for dinner. Ben ended up joing us at the table and looked very interested in tasting some pizza.

Taking a snooze on Daddy

Thanks Aunt Jenny for the cute outfits!!

Down he goes... Ben is such a trooper he just rolls with it

I love how Savannah is so over it at this point and how Ben and Sky are looking at each other like they want to start some trouble.

Would you ever think from this picture Ben and Savannah are only 4 1/2 months apart?

Mimi and Sandy visit

Mimi and Sandy came to visit and help out last week. Sandy is a long time friend of Ty's family and we were thrilled she got to come. She watched Ty grow up and Tyler babysat Sandy and Rod's son Drew when he got older.
We have been so blessed with all of the wonderful help we have had since Savannah. While we were in the hospital Mimi and Gigi were at home taking care of Sky and taking turns cooking and freezing meals for us. It has been wonderful to know that Skylar is getting lots of one on one attention and they kept up great with her therapy schedule and really tried to make her life feel as normal as possible.
Mimi and Sandy worked hard all week cleaning, cooking, decorating, wrapping.... I mean I have seriously been spoiled! I barely had to wrap any of our Christmas presents and I never had to cook or do dishes. We are so grateful! We even got to go on a date. As we were walking in to see New Moon I said- we have a two week old and are going to the movies. How awesome is that!? (Btw- loved New Moon and really want to read them now...in my spare time)

Skylar loves to play by the front door. I think most of the time she is hoping Daddy will walk through the door any second. Thanks to Sandy our floor was super clean!
