Headed Home

We had a good hospital stay and had wonderful nurses take care of us, but we were definitely ready to come home by the end. We couldn't wait for the girls to finally meet and to get home to Skylar.

This is the dress that Skylar wore home from the hospital and that I also wore home from the hospital 30 years ago.

She actually didn't officially make it home in the dress because after we put her in the car seat and got ready to leave she spit up all over herself. O well! We tried. She ended up wearing a hospital onesie home...but she didn't mind.

Proud Daddy with his new baby girl

Skylar's first time to see Savannah

She was really excited to see her and kept saying "Baby, Baby"

She loves to see Savannah in her bouncy seat and is always curious at all the little baby noises and grunts that she makes.

Family of Four

Baby Savannah Jane is here! She arrived November 16 weighing 5 lbs 6 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. She is so sweet and cuddly and tiny. Our delivery and hospital stay went really well and we were just thrilled that she was healthy at 37 weeks and didn't need to go to the NICU.

A few hours before Savannah arrived...

She's here! She screamed and cried for five minutes and all the nurses were laughing at how mad she was. It was great to hear her crying though and know that her lungs were OK.

Daddy and Savannah

Skylar coming to hear the good news that baby sis is here! Skylar wasn't allowed to come visit Savannah because of a new hospital visitation policy brought on by the H1N1 crazyness. I was really sad they didn't get to meet in the hospital, but I at least got to go out to the lobby one day and see her for a few minutes. Tyler went home for a little bit everyday to hang out with her so she wouldn't miss us too much. That allowed more time for grandmas to come to the hospital and visit too. Skylar was thoroughly entertained by grandmas the whole time and got lots of attention all week.

So sleepy

We are so excited Savannah is finally here! She is precious!

Skylar's last weekend before she is a big sister...

We had a fun and relaxing weekend with Skylar last weekend. It was a beautiful weekend again and we spent some quality time together outside. We went to the park and had brunch again at our new favorite outdoor restaurant. Gigi and Mimi arrived to hold down the fort while we were in the hospital and Skylar was thrilled to see everyone.

Swinging in the backyard

Cutest face ever!

Baby Savannah is almost here...

Yes, we have decided on a name! Savannah Jane Meece. Savannah we just loved and Jane is after Tyler's mom and it just sounded too cute together.
My mom came in town over the weekend for our first amniocentesis and in case we were having a baby Monday. Turns out we couldn't do the amnio because of her uterine position and so we ended up having a really fun weekend and got lots of projects done with no worries of a baby coming this week. We finally got Savannah's crib put together and even though her room is still kindof a mess, she has all clean clothes to wear and plenty of diapers and will be set.
Tyler and I got to do some Christmas shopping and go out and have a yummy dinner at Bonefish and got to go to the movies. Skylar and Gigi had a great time playing together and I am not sure who wore who out the most. On Sunday morning before my mom left, we went out for an amazing brunch. The waterfront area in our neighborhood has a restaraunt with outdoor seating and we have never been before. It was such a beautiful weekend and the weather was in the 70s and the perfect day to sip coffee and eat omelettes and waffles overlooking the water.

Walking out on the pier to see the ducks

Reading with Daddy at lunch. Skylar loves books- they are by far her favorite thing and can keep her attention for a long time. I think she takes after her Gramps the librarian.
