Strawberry Picking

We took the girls strawberry picking on Saturday. Skylar had a great time and Savannah was amazingly good the whole time. We went to the same farm where we picked pumpkins and they have events year round with different crops. They have lots of other fun things to do while you are there too. Here is Sky playing in the giant corn play area. I maybe would have thought twice about putting her in the pile of germy corn, but since she is still finishing an antibiotic I figured- why not. It's funny how having kids makes you think about how clean things really are.

Another bouncy house!! Skylar got to jump two weekends in a row. Tyler had fun bouncing with her this time and again- she completely loved it!!

Picking strawberries

Berry face

Yum! O my gosh the strawberries were so good! All the little kids had red faces and clothes- it was so cute.

Lately...

Here are some pictures of recent happenings. We have mostly been hanging out around the house because the girls were recovering from infections and then Ty and I both got sick. Everyone is doing much better now!

Poor Skylar's chapped nose from wiping it so much:(

A little after breakfast reading while Mommy finishes the dishes

Skylar got glasses last week. We have been looking for the perfect pair and perfect fit for almost 6 months now. I had no idea how impossible it would be to fit a 2 yr old for glasses. She is doing way better than I expected with them. She still wants to take them off some especially when she gets sleepy, but is doing a great job of keeping them on for the most part. She hates it when she goes to rub her eyes and the glasses are in her way:( We think she looks adorable in them.

Pushing around her new and improved ambulance with even more siren sounds than the original...(thanks alot Gigi.)

Savannah back to her happy self!

Savannah 6 months old

Savannah is 6 months old now! She weighs 13 lbs 12 oz and is 25 in tall. She has tons of personality and is constantly making me laugh with her funny faces and sounds...which are SO LOUD! The girl has got some lungs! Usually it is happy squealing sounds, but she also got her first ear infection this week and has done lots of screaming and crying in her loud voice too. I had no idea what was wrong with her and she just kept crying and acting very unlike herself. Glad we finally figured it out. Skylar has a sinus infection too this week...all after both of their well baby visits to the doctor last week where they were both completely healthy and fine. On antibiotics now so hopefully everyone will be feeling better soon.
Savannah still loves watching her sister and looks longingly at her playing with her trucks. I think that will be the first thing she goes for when she gets moving. She is not sitting up yet and barely wants to bend her body to sit down. She just likes to stand and is a strong archer just like Skylar was. She doesn't love getting dressed and squirms and fights the whole time. Somehow she manages to kick open the snaps on her sleeper. I have gotten her up from her nap many times and her little legs are kicking around out of her sleeper. No idea how she does that- it's like 6 snaps.
She is eating solids a little better, but it takes her a while to get warmed up each feeding. She spits the first few minutes worth of food out and then decides to eat the rest. She also just wants to stare at Skylar in her high chair so I either have to sit in the middle of them with them facing each other (which is challenging) or sit them beside/diagonal from each other and come in sideways to feed Savannah.
She is surprising me with how big she is getting. I had some 6 and 9 month clothes in the back of the closet that I found the other day. They used to look so huge I thought it would be so long until she wore them and they are fitting!
I hope she feels better soon- I miss our happy smiley little girl.

EI Family Fun Day

Skylar's Early Intervention program hosted a family fun day this weekend and it was so fun! Tyler went to the beach for a long weekend with his friends for their annual guy's weekend in Hilton Head, so he couldn't make it. It was going to be really hard for me to go and actually try and help Sky participate with Savannah in the stroller, so our wonderful babysitter Fegan said she would go with us. Skylar loves Fegan and gets so excited to see her. It was a beautiful day! Skylar went in her first bouncy house...and loved it! They were nice enough to clear some of the big kids out so some little ones could take a turn and she thought it was so fun. Besides the bouncy house, she kind of had this confused/amazed/intrigued look on her face about everything else. I think she had fun but was just like...where the heck are we with all this crazy stuff around?

Blue teeth from her first snow cone

Petting zoo area. This is one of those what the heck faces...why am I sitting in front of a bunch of animals? I love the goat behind her sticking his face under the gate.

Skylar's physical therapist Wendy

Skylar was amazed by the giant fire truck! Her mini fire truck is still one of her favorite toys.

In the fun bus. I thought she would love crawling down this tunnel, but she wouldn't go for it.

Fegan and Skylar

Can you see the huge grin on her face!?

Big Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend and visit from family to celebrate Mother's Day, Ryan's birthday, and the girls dedication at church. Ryan and Jenny are awesome and still came over after being stranded in Tampa earlier in the week. Of course it was great to see Ben again and to see all the kids playing together. I bet he might be walking the next time we see him!

Bumping heads...Ben is sad, but Savannah just rolls with it cause she is used to Skylar knocking in to her:)

Pajama time

Sleepy girl

Going for a walk at the park with our new jogger...which we love!

The fam after church. Skylar had already kicked off her shoes by this point and was over it. You can't tell too much in this picture, but Skylar scraped her face really bad before church. No idea how she did it, but she had a huge red scrape on the side of her face. It was so bad one of the nursery ladies got a first aid kit for us so we could fix it up a little. Another little mishap during church was Savannah spitting up bananas all over her dress during the middle of the prayer. Lovely:) Besides that, the service was very sweet and special on Mother's Day. I wish we could have gotten some pictures before church, but it was wild enough just trying to get everyone ready and there by 9:00.

Sweet little fancy feet. (I don't know why this is sideways)

SO tired after a long morning. We had to get a picture of this cause she never sleeps in our arms anymore- she is too busy checking everything out. She only sleeps in her crib or in her car seat if we are missing nap time.

The sun is so bright... squinting little eyes

Timber...

So over it!
