We have had a crazy week this past week that started off with a trip to the ER after Skylar had a terrible reaction to a new formula. She was throwing up for an hour straight and we decided to head to our GI doctors office where she continued to be sick for another 3 or so hours until he sent us to the ER to get her on an IV. It turns out she has a severe milk intolerance. The Dr. came to check on us before he left for the day and said that he suggested we stay the night so that they could keep her on an IV and make sure she could keep formula down before we left. So after having been at the doctor office/hospital since 3:00 we finally got a room around 9:30. It was a really long night and I felt like I was in the hopsital with a newborn. They kept coming in every hour or two to check her vitals and would wake her up and then she would be scared and crying cause she was in this giant metal toddler crib that looked like a zoo cage. I would have been scared too! She is such a trooper though and is just the sweetest thing and adapts to whatever is thrown her way. She had the IV and a mini board attached to her arm so she couldn't use her hand to grab anything or play with toys. She finally realized that it made a cool noise to bang on stuff with the board and would hold a toy in her other hand and bang on it with the IV board or bang it on the side of the crib. She also loved to bang it on my phone and that kept us entertained many times throughout the night. It was really sad cause she couldn't suck her thumb either and she kept trying to suck the tape. She was back to normal after some long naps the next day.
Hope we never have to do that again!
Skylar passed out after we got home from the hospital
Over the weekend Gramp and Grammy got to come visit. It was their first trip to Richmond and we had fun hanging out and showing them around a little bit. They had never been to Maggiano's and we had the yummiest dinner. We are loving our new selection of Richmond restaurants!
Aunt Jenny and her mom were on their way back to TN from Baltimore so they got to stop over for a night and visit. Jenny is due in June with my first nephew and she looked beautiful. Skylar loved all the company and of course all the attention.

Becky-that sounds terrible. did you even have to sleep on a hard plastic couch? The pic of Skylar asleep is precious-love her leg up on the bumper
Even better...I got to sleep on a hard plastic chair that supposedly folded into a single bed:)
So sorry that she had to spend the night in the ER. So not fun. I hope that you got everything squared away with the formula. I just started Eme on Soy Milk because we went through the same thing when I tried Dariy with her, well not the ER part but she was throwing up for a week.
I am glad that Gramps and Grammy got to spend some time with your family!! Jenny looks great.
Oh-that sounds terrible. I am so glad they were able to figure it out and she is fine now. The at home napping pic is too cute. She looks so comfy. Glad you had visitors and fun with the new places to eat. Sounds like a fun city!
