What an exciting year Kindergarten and Second grade were! The year flew by way too fast and I can't believe that Savannah is already finishing Kindergarten. They had a really cute program in the cafeteria and then had an end of the year Luau party back in the classroom.
Savannah's speaking part of the program was to say "We're the greatest Kindergartners!" She did great!
Mrs. Miller gave Savannah the Best Role Model award! Savannah was so cute afterward and said- what's a "wole model"? :) We were so proud of her and everything she has accomplished this year. She really blossomed in Kindergarten and is developing into this super hard little worker with the sweetest disposition. We are so thankful for Mrs. Miller and for the Kindergarten experience that Savannah (and we) were blessed to have.
Sweet little silhouettes they gave all the parents..
All she needs is a party and some frozen yogurt haha...
Savannah loved being a Mrs. Miller's "monkey" all year and got really excited about all things monkeys. So it was only fitting that she get a monkey necklace for graduation :)
Wish she could stay this cute Kindergartner forever!
We celebrated with a trip to Build a Bear for some new accessories and to the lunch of her choice, Chick fil A...
Skylar's End of the Year program was a few days later and took us quite by surprise! In Second grade, there is no longer a class performance, it is just a time to hand out various awards from the year. I didn't think Skylar was getting any awards and we almost missed it and just came to the party afterwards. But thank goodness we didn't, because she ended up receiving a Citizenship award and a very special award called the Lions Pride award! The award is given to one student out of each class and can only be received one time while you are at LES. Their principal, Mrs. Lockhart, said the award is for students that consistently demonstrate respect for their teachers and peers, are honest, kind, and compassionate to others, and are proud to be a Lakeland Lion. Skylar's teacher, Mrs. Nichols, nominated Skylar for her class. We were so excited and shocked! Skylar got to go back up on the stage and receive her Lions Pride hat with the other winners from each Second grade class. Then they called everyone's parents to come on stage with them!? Needles to say, we were completely unprepared to be making such an appearance haha. I think I had on holey jeans and flip flops and Skylar just had on a little cotton dress that was actually way too summery and not at all the special type of thing I would have dressed her in had I known. We didn't even get a picture of the three of us on stage and the pictures I do have aren't even great because I didn't bring the good camera. But regardless of being unprepared, we could not have been happier or prouder for Skylar! She has come so far even just since starting at LES, and she is a joy and inspiration to those around her. We are very thankful for Mrs. Nichols too and the opportunities that Skylar was able to have in her class this year.
Mrs. Nichols and blue icing Skylar :)
What a special school year for both of the girls! So proud of both of them!
