Gigi and Grandude

Gigi and Grandude are here this week visiting and loving on Skylar. We have just been hanging out and laughing at the funny things Skylar does.
She likes to play on her tummy and look at her animal flash cards.
She still loves to fall asleep on your chest and looks so cute with her fat cheeks smooshed.

Tyler

So, I have to brag on Tyler for a minute and on what a great dad he is. He has done a couple things lately that were so sweet (that he might be embarrassed I am telling). I went back to work at LOFT part time a couple days a week so he was watching Skylar by himself one morning and decided to take her to Target. I came home and there was a baby hat on the kitchen table. Later I found a few more baby hats laying around the nursery. I said- why are there hats everywhere, did she need a hat? He said- she wanted one. It was just really sweet that he thought a hat would look cute with the Target onesie he got her. She was a big hit at Target.

The other cute thing he does is when he is reading a book to Skylar he makes sure that she is involved. She can hardly keep focused on the book long enough to finish it but he makes sure that she can feel all the animals on the Touch and Feel books. He was reading Pat the Bunny the other day and you know the part..now you put your finger through Mummy's ring. He put the book up to her tiny finger so she could try it.

Sleeping Beauty

Roll Over

Skylar has been rolling over now for a month or so and we were able to get a cute clip of it. I don’t know how to edit video yet so it is a little long. This particular time she was doing this funny rocking motion that we thought was hilarious.

Smiles

I have finally been able to catch a few smiles on camera. Most of them are the tail end of a smile cause it is so hard to capture the exact moment. Still very cute though....

Lots of Firsts

Skylar is 10 weeks old now and has recently experienced lots of "firsts". Skylar got her first shots, went on her first "road trip" to see some of Tyler's family from Illinois, and went swimming for the first time.

We had a great time visiting with Tyler's aunt and uncle and cousins.

Olivia was adorable and did a great job entertaining Skylar.

Family Visits

We have had a great time having company for the past couple weeks. Jane came to visit and helped out a lot with Skylar. I got to sleep more than 4 hours for the first time in 8 weeks. It was wonderful.

My dad and Janis got to visit over the 4th. We went to New Bern, NC for an evening to see some of Janis's family and Skylar did great. It really helps to have someone in the backseat with her to keep her company.

Skylar loves her grandparents and was thoroughly entertained by my dad.
