From Sand to Snow in a Week

We had some beautiful weather this month and decided to head to the beach for a last minute weekend getaway! It was supposed to be in the 70s all weekend. It ended up being colder than we expected on Saturday, but it was still really pretty and fun to be on the beach all by ourselves. Sunday was gorgeous and totally worth the trip down!
Late night snack when we arrived. They didn't get to bed until 11:00, but no worries- they were still up at 6:30 and excited to be at the beach.
Foggy view of the dunes from our window. We actually spent Saturday morning touring houses and looking for the perfect beach house for our trip to the Outer Banks this summer. We saw some great houses, and hopefully picked a good one to come back to in July.

Biggest Adirondack Chair ever!
Chilly Saturday afternoon on the beach...

No one else in sight...

Sea creature skeleton? I have no idea what this is, but it was pretty cool/creepy looking.

Lots of places at the Outer Banks close for the winter season, but our favorite pizza place was open. This is our fav called the Triple Pepp... Pepperoni, Pepperoncini peppers, and Black Pepper.
Sunrise Sunday morning
Ready to play!
Absolutely beautiful day and sunshine

Can't wait to go back!
We got home Sunday night and by Thursday night it was snowing!? We didn't get much, but it was enough to call off school Friday. We got to play in the snow Friday morning a little bit before it melted. Savannah is sporting her "infant" snowsuit haha...it was so small!...but it did the job for a quick play in the snow.

Good workout for Mommy- pulling the sled through the snow on flat ground!
Throwing "cotton balls"...
