2 months old

Savannah is two months old now and is such a doll. At her well visit she was 20 1/2 inches and 9 pounds even. We think she is getting so big which is pretty ironic because I have a few friends who had 9+ lb babies at birth. She is right on track on the growth chart and the doctor says she is on track to be 5'4" or so and be on the petite side.
She keeps us thoroughly entertained with all of her funny faces and noises which are still mostly grunts. She can make some awesome grumpy old man grunts. She is very sensitive and doesn't really like transitions. She likes to play on her mat and in her bouncy seat but it takes a minute for her to get warmed up and she sticks that sad bottom lip out until she gets it figured out. She is used to all the noise of the house and to Skylar's ramblings all day but she gets a little scared if she is on the floor and Skylar gets right in her face. She loves to stand up on her feet and pushes up as tall as she can like a little ballerina. She is sleeping in her crib for the most part with the occasional nap in the swing. She still puts up a fight before she goes to sleep which I hope will get better with more practice. Our stairwell is a little dark and as soon as I turn the corner to go upstairs and put her down her eyes get huge and she gets this "o no!" look on her face like she knows what is about to happen and is already dreading it.
We had our first dinner out as a family last week at exciting Chick-fil-a and both girls did excellent. Savannah also slept for 7 hours for the first time and has been doing so for almost a week now! We are loving every second with her and she is such a sweet sweet girl.

Skylar's favorite pastime...

Skylar loves books! They are by far her favorite thing to play with. They keep her attention longer than any other toys and she is pretty happy to entertain herself digging through the books and reading. She loves to prop her foot up on her leg and relax with her favorite books. Anything Elmo is an especially big hit!

Time is flying by...

Last week flew by for us. I can't believe Savannah is already two months old. She has been sleeping from 10/11 to 4/5 in the morning for about a week which is wonderful! Because she is still so tiny I know it will be longer maybe than most babies before she sleeps 8-8. We will take whatever we can get:) Most days are so busy the only time I sit down is to feed the girls or after Sky goes to bed when I absolutely crash for the day.
Here is a picture of some real multitasking. It was time for Skylar's breakfast and I knew Savannah wouldn't be happy in her bouncy seat without someone talking to her and I knew her crying would distract Skylar from eating. So, I decided to put the changing pad on the table so I could talk to Savannah while I fed Skylar and attempted to drink my coffee and eat my own breakfast (otherwise I would never get to). Then, I decided it was the perfect opportunity for Savannah to have tummy time since I was right there supervising and so I wouldn't have to play defense from Skylar if she were on the floor- so I flipped her over. I got up from the table to get something and turned around and just busted out laughing at this hilarious scene in front of me. Just a day in the life...

Savannah asleep in the bouncy seat- a rare occasion these days.

We got some pictures of the girls in their Pjs the other night. We put Savannah in Skylar's lap and she was so excited. She got this huge grin on her face and then she just kept looking at her in amazement that she was actually getting to hold her. Savannah actually smiled a few times too-it was so cute.

I think this picture is so funny cause it looks like Skylar is about to do some serious damage to Savannah, but she is really very gentle and sweet with her. It must be the mischievous look on her face.

In comes a hand to save the day...

Getting settled...

We are finally settled after 6 weeks worth of wonderful visitors. It is bitter sweet because we really miss everyone (and of course all the help), but we have been getting used to our new family of four and enjoying some quality time together. It has been hard figuring out how to juggle everything and the days are pretty much non stop, but Skylar and Savannah both seem to be happy and adjusting well. I even survived two nights on my own while Tyler was in NC. We only left the house once in three days, but we made it!

This face cracks me up- so pitiful! She has one of the best pouty sad faces I have ever seen.

Christmas Round 3

We had such a wonderful Holiday season this year with so much to celebrate. It was great to see lots of family and friends and Skylar has thoroughly enjoyed all the extra attention. The girls got way too much cute stuff for Christmas and Sky has been playing with all her new toys and books. Gigi came to visit for a week and got to spend lots of quality time with Skylar and Savannah and experience the crazyness that is our life right now. Opening presents with Gigi

Gigi let us go out for a wonderful dinner on New Year's Eve. We had a dinner gift card from Christmas and a free babysitter- can't get any better than that!!

Smiles

Savannah has started smiling! She is still not smiling very often, but Ty was able to catch one with his camera phone. Daddy gets most of the smiles- he has the magic touch.
